Not every company that needs a Washington DC address needs a room in Washington DC. Our listing quotes a virtual office at $100 a month and a business address with mail handling at $110, available in all 10 business centres we cover in the city.
What the two products are
A business address gives you a real street address in the building, mail receipt and forwarding, and your company name on the operator's register — the cheapest way to stop using a home address on invoices and a website. A virtual office adds the working layer: call handling arrangements, occasional use of the premises, and a base from which to book meeting space. On this board the two sit $10 apart, which makes the choice a question of what you do with post and calls, not of budget.
Meeting clients on the same contract
The point of a DC address is that you can use it. Meeting rooms in the same centres book from $120, and a coworking desk in the building is $385 a month if you start coming in weekly. That ladder — address, then desk, then a fitted room from $130 — lets a company scale its physical footprint without ever signing a multi-year lease.
Which address to pick
All ten centres carry the product, and the addresses differ in what they signal. Pennsylvania Avenue NW and Connecticut Avenue NW read as the traditional government-affairs and professional-services corridors. G Street and I Street NW are core Downtown. 100 M Street SE sits in Capitol Riverfront, and 1140 3rd Street NE in NoMa — both younger, more tech-weighted addresses. The price is identical, so choose the one your clients will recognise.
Practical checks
Ask how mail is notified and how often it is forwarded, whether registered post and courier deliveries are accepted, whether the operator will act as a point of contact for deliveries, and what identity documents are required to open the account. If you intend to use the address for company registration or as a registered agent, confirm in advance that the operator permits it and check the current District requirements — operators differ on this and the rules are not negotiable at the front desk.
Upgrading later
Because the same ten buildings also list private offices from 43 to 14,230 ft², an address taken today can turn into a room in the same lobby later, usually without changing your stationery. Compare the buildings on the full board of office space for rent in Washington DC and pick the lobby you would be happy to bring a client into.
